Ain't no rest for the wicked...

Why was it a really really bad idea to be a criminal in Queen Anne (Seattle) this Friday? There was a very large memorial and parade held for the slain police officer in Queen Anne's Key Arena early Friday afternoon. They closed down streets, blocked off roads. They estimated about 1500 people to show up including police officers from all over the country (and Canada). In case you can't see the above pictures, it was all blue and white and sirens for a 4 block stretch on one side of the street. And on the other was a 4 block stretch of "unmarked, undercover" Chevy Subarbans. There was even this one classic police car from the 50's that I wanted to snap a pic of, but seeing as I was driving at the time, taking pics with my cellphone, AND there was about 15 cops in dress black surrounding the aforementioned car, I felt it wise to refrain from any illegal activity.

In somewhat the same thread...I've really been digging this song from Caged Elephant. I think it brings out the badass in me!

I ordered these dvds like a couple years ago and apparently you can't buy them from that website if you're in the US. Hmmm. You can get them thru ebay and other sites if you just Google it. Or I guess you can find clips and stuff thru YouTube.com and Yeoh.com

I asked my friend about his 20 minute routine and he says it should not be done unless you've got a spotter or trainer with you so he asked me not to list it down. He did say for those of you at home who wants something similar, watch/rent/buy Jillian Michael's 30 day shred videos. In it she does different variations of a 20 minute workout that is similar to the routine he has me do. He stresses to please please please, if possible, schedule at least one session with a certified personal trainer before you start any workout routine. You want to lose weight and be fit...not break something.

Im feeling positively chatty lately I guess...

I got off early from work today so I could go to a workout appointment with a buddy of mine (who is also my personal trainer) and he calls me up 5 minutes before we were to meet telling me he was stuck in traffic and to hang out till he's closer to the gym. THEN he calls me up 45 minutes later telling me that he lied to me before...he wasn't in traffic but in fact being a lazy bum at his house...but that he really is in traffic now.

FAIL!

So I read blogs and recorded a video while I waited for him to haul himself to the gym.

P.S. this is me PRE workout. If you think this is scary wait till you see me POST workout. Not only do I look like the dead, but Im pretty sure I smell like it too.

Really Quick Update...

Backstory: went to NW Folklife Festival at the Seattle Center this weekend. Just as we were about to leave, I thought it would be cool to ride the Ferris Wheel. Just as the ride started, I remembered something very important.

Ok so backstory: I have a a thing about watching makeup tutorials on YouTube and have a subscription to the YouTube channel of my favorite drag queen/makeup artiste extraordinaire Petrilude...

(I know, kinda anticlimactic right?)


Anyway, Josh hosted a contest a while back asking his readers to create a look based on a picture of a sunset off Waikiki Beach. Total girlyness, but whatever...I'm a girl. Deal with it. His friend Nick (dressed as alter-ego Keisha) entered a faux contest entry and posted it. You can skip all the makeup parts and just watch the first minute...and the last 25 seconds.





Though I don't know why you would...any guy who can sport a wig and beard and limited makeup items and still look that damn good deserves to be fawned over.


I like to think he raided his sister's or girlfriend's makeup bag to do this...more on that later.


Hilarity will ensue. I guarantee it!

I swear I love those two guys. Never fails to make me snot-out-the-nostril laugh so hard! If they weren't both gay (one definitely...the other one maybe but I hope not) I'd marry them both in a heart beat.

K...I totally snuck that last vid of me in there (better lit one available if you clicky the linky down below)...but I think everyone deserves to know how to properly treat any nasty facial activities that may pop up from time to time. And I know I promised never to post makeup vids here again. In my defense that was NOT a makeup vid. It was a public service announcement.

So sue me.
