Travelog 1: In and Around Seattle

I'm inspired by Scope over at ScopeTech aka Love Letters to Cora and his post on his hometown, Chicago. And also of Fancy Schmancy's lovely vacation photos! Although I wasn't born in Seattle, I've lived here for over 3/4 of my life and I love it here!

As such, I thought it would be nice to do little travel/touristy videos of my state and city to show all you people. I'm also thinking about going back to pictures from my past travels and showing you my actual hometown (aka the Philippine Islands) and other places but that will take some digging and work and I'm just too lazy right now. That and I'm running out of funny anectodes and stories and awkward memories to share with you and this here is in hoping bright colors and flashy videos are enough to distract from the lack of actual material.

This first video is at the Skagit Tulip Festival (kinda...there weren't any tulips yet...too early in the season) in Mt. Vernon, WA. Then there's some of the Seattle Waterfront and Pier. And finally at my Alma Mater, the University of Washington - Seattle. All taken in one rare sunny day. Song is by Pearl Jam called "Even Flow".

Enjoy!

I have not seen the Tulip festival, very cool! Kathy and I were trying to figure out how many times we have visited, and decided on about 40 or so since we have been married. She grew up in Bellevue.

For some reason I have always wanted to move to oregon even though I've never been there. I'll have to visit seattle too at some point.

Nice video! The only time I was in Seattle was to catch a cruise ship to Alaska. I saw the Space Needle when we docked but we were going straight to the airport. I'm thinking of another cruise in 5(?) years. I'll make sure I have time for the city, if I go.

More destinations for me to hit with Cora the Explora on my trips out there.

And 825 years ago, UPS lobbied hard for me to go there with their catchy, "How does 'Puget' sound?" ad campaign.

(And it does feel odd, being referred to as somewhat of a positive influence.)

I was thinking of doing the same thing. A photo tour of my all time favourite places. Hmmm okay you've inspired me. Will be taking pics and putting them up =)

Those pictures were absolutely awesome! How do you do that whole slide show with song thing? Yes, I know I am technologically deficient, but, help?
