What the...?

I was hanging out with a coworker after work, and since she drove carpool today, I gladly [had no choice but to] accompanied her to the pharmacy to pick up an asthma inhaler. But that isn't the funny part. The funny part came when I read the little booklet that came in the package. It said:

Certain side effects include:
-- shortness of breath, inability to take deep breaths, nose bleed, dry throat.
--swelling of the face, lips, and tongue.
--difficulty breathing, wheezing, chest tightness
--blurred vision, eye pain, headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting.
--white patches or sores in the mouth and nose
--fast or irregular heartbeat
--and in some cases DEATH.

...uh huh....

Personally, I'd take the asthma.

I have a tendency to read those little booklets too and they freak me out!
I love how a cure for asthma has a side effect of shortness of breath. Genius there.

Hahaha, that's funny. I thought inhalers were supposed to help you not get those things XD Thank god my asthma isn't that bad and I don't require inhalers haha.

Sheesh. Those booklets make me lose sleep and make my mother crazy because I call her freaking out. Yeah, I'm with you. Maybe I'd rather stay with my ailment than risk all that crap!

My word ver was "ranting." Nice.

I don't have asthma, but I may start using an inhaler in hopes that it'll cause the tongue swelling. My tongue is currently way too skinny.

Believe me, you'd rather have the rescue inhaler.

Most of those side effects are listed there for people who don't really need the inhalers. Taking a hit can aggravate the bronchial passages and give you asthma-like symptoms.

They forgot to include "Could be beaten up for being a dork and using an inhaler" as a possible side effect.

OOOhh. My daughter is a raging asthmatic and I'm glad I never read one of those booklets. (great parent, huh?) It's a very serious condition, especially when the symptoms are chronic.
But-I will say this- we tease my daughter all the time about her rescue inhaler being her "crack".
She could be absolutely fine and spot an inhaler lying around-it's like she goes into junkie mode and she's gotta have it..
Now that I read that back, it's sounds not funny. Of course, it's all in good fun. Again, great parent, huh???
